Twelve years after her first trip, Nashville-based “American Idol” star Kree Harrison is getting back on board the “Santa Train.”
Harrison will be the celebrity guest for the 71st annual “Santa Train” as it delivers Christmas gifts to Appalachian families on Nov. 23. She first participated in the event at age 11 in 2001.
In a release, Harrison said she was “incredibly honored and excited” to return.
“The first time was such an amazing opportunity to help spread the joy of Christmas to the people of this region,” she said. “I can’t wait to have an even greater appreciation for the experience the second time around.”
Harrison finished in second place on the most recent season of “Idol” and is working on her debut album.
The “Santa Train” runs a 110-mile route with 14 stops in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee to distribute more than 15 tons of toys to families. For more information, visit www.teamsantatrain.org.
